What is FANA?

FANA is the Faubourg Avart Neighborhood Association. It was organized in 2011 when neighbors living near Magazine Street, between Upperline and Valmont streets realized that they did not have an active neighborhood association.

The name of the association comes from the family plantation that was subdivided in 1841 forming Faubourg Avart. The boundaries of the association are Upperline, Tchoupitoulas, Valmont and Prytania streets.
